February 19, 2015, 9 years ago
After a half year of relative recluse, Canadian epic metal quarte, Vesperia, have recently announced their return to the fray with an onslaught of fresh news.
After recently announcing the band's new lineup with the addition of talented young drummer (and son of Lawrence Gowan), Dylan Gowan as well as a new logo - Vesperia now plan on entering the studio next month to record a short EP/ Mini CD follow up to 2013's An Olden Tale.
"We are going to be recording 2 brand new original songs that we have been playing live and in rehearsal for the better part of the last year as well as a special cover song from a well-known piece of Norwegian classical music. We realize that none of us hold much Norwegian heritage, but we really love this piece of music and would love to record our take on it”, comments the band's frontman, Morgan Rider.
The title for the upcoming EP will be The Iron Tempest EP and will span around 18-24 minutes long. Helming the engineering side of the effort will be Ryan Bovaird (frontman of Canadian melodeath band Hallow's Die).
In addition, Vesperia will also be performing select intimate shows throughout Canada during March and April. These shows will display Vesperia’s striking new live performance as well as a selection from their entire repetoire.
The show dates are as follows:
February
March
7 - Oshawa, ON - The Atria
13 - Montreal, QC - Piranha Bar
14 - London, ON - The APK
April
18 - Belleville, ON - Belle Pub
More shows to be announced.
