CAULDRON Cancel Tour Dates In Wake Of Highway Accident In Texas; Photos

Canadian trio Cauldron have dropped off their tour with Enforcer, Warbringer and Exmortus, having been involved in a highway accident in Texas on Sunday, February 14th. A message from the band follows:

“Sorry to report the unfortunate news of our accident (not at fault btw) on the highway in Texas (Sunday) night and that we will have to pull out of the remaining 8 tour dates. (Guitarist) Ian (Chains) is recovering in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, otherwise everyone is going to be OK. We are just happy to be alive at this point.

“Thanks for your support and to our tour mates Enforcer, Warbringer and Exmortus; we had fun and wish you all the best. Hope to see you all again soon.”

Cauldron’s fourth studio album, In Ruin, was released on January 8th via The End Records in North America, and in Europe on January 29th via High Roller Records.

About the new album artwork, Jason Decay recently said: "We wanted a basic, straight to the point cover without going totally Metallica Black Album; something that catches your eye when flipping through the record bin. I saw a decrepit and eerie looking statue hovering in a doorway upon the In Ruin title. We expressed this to our friend Squid (who did the artwork) and I guess you could say its a cross between Poltergeist, Alice In Hell, and Intravenus de Milo?!"

Tracklisting:

“No Return / In Ruin”
“Empress”
“Burning At Both Ends”
“Hold Your Fire”
“Come Not Here”
“Santa Mira”

For the new album, the trio returned to the Lincoln County Social Club recording studio in Toronto, where they recorded two of their previous albums, including Burning Fortune (2011), and Tomorrow’s Lost (2012). Co-produced by Chris Stringer (Rush, Timber Timbre), In Ruin delivers more riffs, more attitude and more modern heavy metal classics while laying waste to all of the genre's imitators.
