Guitarist Chris Caffery (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage) has checked in with the following update:
"Thanks to my good friend Pete Pardo for stopping by the Silver Dollar Saloon this afternoon and having me as a guest on his show What's Hot With Sea Of Tranquility. It's exciting because it's the first time I'm my life my inspiration comes from my heart. We discuss this."Caffery discusses the just completed TSO tour, his upcoming solo album, Savatage news, as well as a Forgotten Favorites segment as they both take a look back at the classic Doctor Butcher album from 1995. In addition, he looks at new releases from Blind Guardian, Led Zeppelin, UFO, Tarot, Oceanwake, and Judas Priest, plus Martin Popoff's new Whitesnake book.
Caffery is currently in the studio working on his next solo album. He recently offered a look inside the production:
"Back to guitar land today. Gonna rest the voice a lil. I also have a few more songs I need to get to Mr. Tichy for drums, 'Damned If You Do, Dead If You Don't' being one. Very metal. 'Too Soon To Be Too Late' is another. Plus another 3! I still have time before May but if I don't get these drums my masters will be too late! This record is a lot like Faces where it has a wide spectrum of songs. I have 13 with vocals, styles ranging from really heavy to an acoustic instrumental."
Caffery recently commented on Savatage's upcoming reunion show at the Wacken Open Air:
"Savatage will close the festival that night following TSO's first ever European festival appearance. I have been waiting for them to announce this for weeks. It was hard to keep it a secret! Yes, legion, our patience has finally paid off..."Wacken Open Air 2015 will take place July 30th - August 1st in Wacken, Germany.
