Court Sides With Talent Manager ALLEN KOVAC In Dispute With Lawyer Over STEVEN TYLER, MÖTLEY CRÜE

Today (August 27th) the Court held a hearing in a long running dispute between talent manager Allen Kovac and his music lawyer Dina LaPolt, relating to LaPolt’s interference with Kovac’s representation of Steven Tyler in the American Idol negotiations and her attempt to disrupt Kovac’s long-standing management of the rock band Mötley Crüe.

After losing on appeal earlier this year, LaPolt filed a demurrer* to all seven causes of action and asked the Court to dismiss the entire case without leave to amend. The Court sided with Kovac and overruled LaPolt’s demurrer in its entirety. The Court set a trial date of May 24th, 2016.

Sasha Frid, Kovac’s lawyer, stated: “We are very pleased with the ruling. The Court got it right. We look forward to trying the case before a jury.”

*A demurrer is a pleading in a lawsuit that objects to or challenges a pleading filed by an opposing party. The word demur means "to object"; a demurrer is the document that makes the objection.
