CRADLE OF FILTH / DEVILMENT Frontman Dani Filth Featured On Team Rock Off Air Podcast, Talks Mainstream Press Views On Heavy Metal

Cradle Of Filth and Devilment frontman Dani Filth appeared as a special guest on Team Rock Off Air on January 13th. Listen to the in-depth interview on the weekly podcast here.

Team Rock: "Episode 3 features Dani Filth from Cradle Of Filth and Devilment, and in it the guys pick Dani's brain about the stigma that last long been attached to heavy and, in particular, death metal music, and the various ways in which heavy music has been reported in the mainstream press, specifically relating to teenage depression and suicide.

Dani in turn discusses his own school experiences and childhood memories, the importance of heavy metal music to him growing up, and the positive impact it has had on his life over the years. He also opens up the debate to highlight the wider issues at play before blaming the corruption of the youth on heavy metal - the role of TV, movies and video games, as well as Britain's long running fascination with gothic crime, horror and stories of the macabre.

Conversation also turns to the idea of breaking down preconceptions and challenging and reversing prejudices through interaction, connection, empathy and understanding, and again Dani relates his own experiences in these areas – the reaction from fellow parents to him as a father when taking his daughter Luna to school, taking part in television social experiments such as Living With The Enemy, introducing his mother-in-law to heavy metal bands, and his thoughts on the activities of some of his peers in the black metal scene and the crimes they committed.

Finally, Dani offers some perspective and gives advice to anyone who might be experiencing feelings of anxiety, isolation or depression, before enlightening everyone with an unfortunate incident he experienced during a trip around the London Bridge Experience."
