DAVE NAVARRO Opens Up About His Mother’s Murder - “It's The Most Profound Moment Of My Life, And I Don't Think I Should Sweep It Under The Rug Anymore”; Mourning Son Documentary Video Trailer

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Narvarro is getting extremely personal in the new documentary Mourning Son, reports VH1.com. In the revealing film, Navarro revisits the trauma of his mother Constance’s 1983 murder. Just 15 years old at the time, Dave harboured a deep sense of loss and pain throughout his rise to rock stardom. These inner demons lead him to develop numerous substance abuse problems, including a heroin addiction that nearly claimed his life.

“It feels ugly to tell the story,” he admits in the trailer, which opens with grisly news footage of the Hollywood crime-scene. Obviously it’s a difficult topic for him to discuss, but he feels its necessary in order to grow as an artist and as a human. “It’s the most profound moment of my life, and I don’t think I should sweep it under the rug anymore. It just was the darkest, most horrible moment of my life.”
