DEAD SOUL To Release New Album Via Century Media; European Tour With GHOST Announced

Century Media Records recently started a collaboration with Anders Fridén (In Flames) and his label Razzia Notes Records. After Black Temple’s It All Ends, the upcoming album of Dead Soul will be the next Razzia release being licensed to Century Media Records for all territories outside of Scandinavia and North America.

Jens Prüter (Head Of A&R, Century Media Records Europe) on the collaboration with Razzia Notes: “Anders and me first met in 2003 when Century Media released the Passenger album (feat. Anders and Niclas Engelin). Century Media rented a tram for a promotional event and we had a lot of time going from one end of Dortmund to the other. After a couple of beers we found out that our musical taste covers more than just metal and for hours we talked about bands from all kinds of genres. Over 10 years later we still enjoy having a beer and listen to all kinds of music – and now we can even share it with the rest of the world and work together on a couple of really interesting bands that Anders discovered for his own label, Razzia Notes. The energetic noise rock of Black Temple was a good start. The album got great reviews and they will support In Flames on their European tour later this year. And I’m looking forward to the dark electronic doom blues of Dead Soul who will support the mighty Ghost right after the release of their amazing second album. We hope you’ll enjoy it too. The tram’s still rolling!”

The band comments: "From the very beginning Dead Soul has been all about passion towards music. It feels great to release our new album on a classic label like Century Media that shares that dedication."

Every once in a while it becomes very obvious what’s needed to create something new and exciting is a collision of two different worlds. In the case of Swedish duo Dead Soul it is the unholy alliance of the rough and unpolished delta blues of Anders Landelius and the electronic music of Niels Nielsen, creating a unique, dark rock sound that one could describe as industrial doom blues. Think Nick Cave meets Nine Inch Nails meets Johnny Cash and you might get an idea of what is awaiting you.

Anders Fridén: "I love when you find a band that have great songs but not are genre specific. Dead Soul just write great music that speaks straight to you.”

In early November Dead Soul will embark on an extensive European tour supporting Ghost. See below for the exact dates.

Dead Soul went from just an idea to become one of the most acclaimed new artists in Sweden through the signing to Anders Fridén’s label Razzia Notes, the release of their first single (“They Will Pay”) and their debut performance opening up for Ghost in 2012. With the release of their debut album In The Darkness in 2013 things began to move fast. With glorious reviews from all the major newspapers in Sweden among with a very successful tour of Scandinavia together with Ghost the duo was hailed as one of the most exciting things to happen in the music scene in years. Not only did In The Darkness end up on many “Best Album 2013” lists, it was also nominated in the category “The Break Through Act of 2013” at the Bandit Rock Awards. 2014 has been yet another fantastic year for Dead Soul through the release of a live album/video (Live in Studio Underjord) and a tour together with Swedish thrash veterans The Haunted. With no signs of slowing down Dead Soul are now preparing to bring their unique industrial doom blues to the rest of the world in 2015.
