Death Metal Legend KAM LEE Launches Kickstarter Campaign For New 7” EP
February 5, 2016, 8 years ago
Death metal vocalist Kam Lee, best known for his vocal contributions to an early incarnation of Death (called Mantas) in 1983-84, and later in Massacre is working on a new solo 7” vinyl EP. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on Kickstarter.
Some of the perks include a personalized letter of thanks, a “cool hand drawn sketch of some evil skull creature or monstrous beast”, a “bonus gift”, full name printed and included on the inside inlay of the EP, and also signed albums from Lee’s other bands Bone Gnawer, Feast Of Flesh and Cannibal Crematorium.
Lee explains why he is going through the crowdfunding route: “Why am I doing this on my own as opposed to going through a label? Well... for starters... IMO (in my opinion) - labels these days aren't really getting behind their bands as they once used to do. The entire feeling of pride and being a part of a bigger 'family' is no longer present in modern labels these days, regardless if the label is a small independent run label or one of the larger corporate labels. The entire label experience is a rather cold and uninviting, and I have to be brutally honest here.... I personally feel labels are RIP OFFS!”
