The Devin Townsend Project performed a special show at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London, England on April 13th showcasing the new Z² album. Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen has checked in with the following update:
"I'm finally back home from months of 'off and on' touring since November last year. We have a little break until we start up again in the summer for Festival Touring in Europe and North America.Reflecting on what the band, crew and management accomplished with the DTP is pretty surreal to me. It was always my dream to play these huge shows and tour the world doing what I love but there are still MANY times where I pinch myself and say WTF! Ha! I'm extremely grateful for it all, all the band, crew and management involved and especially the amazing fans who support us. With out our fans we're nothing. Plain and simple!
Royal Albert Hall was a pinnacle gig for all of us. To be able to play there is a dream come true. I'll never forget it and will always cherish it. Even when I try and rest at home, it's hard to at the moment..... I just keep thinking about the RAH gig with a smile on my face.
I could go on forever but won't. All I really want to say is that I'm as grateful as EVER and thankful for the opportunities life has presented me. I believed in myself, stayed positive, worked hard for my career and way of life but enjoying the journey and being grateful for it each step of the way (through the ups and downs) has made me a very happy and grateful person.
Lastly, I want to thank all my family and close friends. I'm SO thankful to have such amazing people in my life. You all inspire me to be the best I can. Thank you, I love each and every one of you guys!
I've attached a video of the start of the show someone filmed at the RAH show to give you a small idea of what that show was like. It got pretty crazy with visuals and actors and more but I'll let you guys experience that on Blu-Ray when it comes out. Surreal, incredible, electric and a dream come true!
Now for my next order of duty..... Rest."
