ENDAST Laid To Rest - "These Last Few Shows Have Been Indicative Of Just How Much Positivity We've Managed To Generate As A Band"

All great things must come to an end. One of Montreal's most iconic DIY metal bands, Endast, have called it quits.

Since their birth in 2004, the band's career has spawned four albums (The Promise EP (2005), Odds Against Tomorrow (2006), Black Cloud (2011), Thrive (2014), a DVD release Where I Belong (2012), 600,000 kms for over 1300 gigs, countless tours across Canada and the US that included festival appearances at Heavy MTL and TO and not to mention the many notable bands Endast bled the stage with.

The band performed their last show ever on April 25th in Hamilton, ON at Absinthe. Frontman Big James Arsenian has checked in with the following update:

"Well, that's it. I'm back in Montreal and Endast is done. I had the whole evening on the way home to let that sink in. It's a weird feeling.

These last few shows have been really indicative of just how much positivity we've managed to generate as a band...a lot of people came out to these shows and shared a lot of good memories they have of us and the good times they've had at our shows. It feels great to know that all the hard work we put in and shitty times we went through to keep thing going was worth it.

We weren't the most popular band in the world... a lot of bands are way bigger and more significant than Endast and have achieved a lot more than us... but I'm very proud of what we accomplished and all the best experiences of my life stem from having played in Endast.

The absolute best part of having been in this band is the friends I'll now have for the rest of my life that I met through the band. That's a gift that'll keep on giving for the rest of my days....

I owe so much to my brother Chris Arsenian for having started the band so many years ago....and Pepe Poliquin, Ryan Miller and Steve Harlall, it has been a real honour touring with you guys. and ending this thing on such a positive note...big love to Simon McKay and Blair Youngblut as well for so many great memories on stage together.

Thanks for listening, guys."
