ENSLAVED’s Grutle Kjellson On Being Called Viking Or Black Metal – “For Me, It’s Just Some Kind Of Rock ‘N’ Roll, I Don’t Give A Shit About Labels”

Enslaved vocalist, bassist Grutle Kjellson was interviewed by FaceCulture on April 11. The interview presented in two parts, sees Kjellson talking about Roadburn, recording their first recording, labels, his early influences, an underground metal scene, his first band, stage diving on Ivar Bjørnson, a musical brotherhood, Devin Townsend Project, what makes good music, anddeveloping their sound.

In part two, Kjellson talks about In Times, “Thurisaz Dreaming”, a chronological order, the concept of time, being nerds of mythology, “Daylight”, a spark of inspiration, and the consumption of music.
