EXHUMED Frontman MATT HARVEY Talks Covering EXODUS Classic "Lesson In Violence"; Weighs In On DECAPITATED Arrests (Audio)

Iron Serbian of Capital Chaos TV recently spoke with Matt Harvey of Exhumed, Check out the interview below.

On bonus tracks for new album:

Harvey: "We did two bonus tracks; one is actually like a full film score piece where it's actually more like a traditional overture in that it contains scenes from every song kind of intertwined into one larger piece. And then we did a cover of 'Lesson In Violence' by Exodus for no other reason than we just really like the song. It didn't fit with a concept or didn't have anything to do with anything. But we're just big Exodus fans and Mike actually drum techs for Tom Hunting. So I knew that Tom would get a chuckle out of it when he heard it and I enjoyed kind of making Mike nervous like are you going to play or play your bosses stuff. See I see what he thinks but I am really happy with how it came down."

Q: On having to change habits on the road due to Decapitated arrests:

Harvey: "I mean I really don't think so because I mean I have no idea obviously if they are guilty or innocent. I don't know them personally I don't know the people involved personally. I wasn't there so I don't know assumptions either way. But I mean I think that for a long time now people have to be aware that you know the world has changed and you just you're not able to just get away with stuff. You know what I mean. You know, I was in my late 20s, you know I used to. I was a terrible significant other because I grew up never getting laid. And then finally I was in a band and I was able to actually to get laid so I would just fuck anybody, but my girlfriend at the time never really found out because it's just the Internet and everything else. I mean it's just that lives weren't as public back then.

And if you think that you can do something without consequences and that nobody is watching, you're probably mistaken whether it's rape or sexual assault or saying something inappropriate or whatever. And if you're if you're in a band and you want to go out on tour and get laid, that's great, that's completely fine, but if you think that you're entitled to it because you're in a band you deserve whatever is coming to you. I don't think it's really going to change anything much because this is just such a weird random outlying event. It's not like it's happening all the time."

Exhumbed have released an official music video for "Lifeless”, off their impending new full-length album, Death Revenge.

Issues frontman Matt Harvey: "Following sequentially through the album's track list, we are stoked to lay 'Lifeless' on you. 'Defenders Of The Grave' is the introduction for the tale of Death Revenge and 'Lifeless' sets the actual plot that continues for the rest of the record in motion. Fitting with the vibe of the storyline as a whole, the clip focuses more on story elements and vibe rather than close up shots of guitar-noodling. I think it sets the tone nicely. Cheers!"

Death Revenge is set for release on October 13th on CD, LP, deluxe LP with cassette, and digital formats via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital orders are available via Relapse.com here, and Bandcamp here.

Exhumed's sixth full-length sees them tread into ambitious new territory with their first concept album: a musical melodrama in thirteen parts based on shocking true events. Death Revenge takes place in the late 1820s in Edinburgh, Scotland and tells the macabre tale of a series of brutal murders where the victims' cadavers were sold to anatomists, amid a grisly underground trade of grave-robbery. Recorded with producer Jarrett Pritchard (Goatwhore, Eternal, Gruesome), Death Revenge takes the band's signature gore-drenched, death metal mayhem to theatrical and ghastly new depths. Cover illustration is by Orion Landau with interior illustrations by Lucas Ruggieri (lucasriggieriillustration.com).
