EXHUMED - "Necromaniac" Streaming From Upcoming Gore Metal: A Necrospective: 1998 - 2015

A a refurbished rendition of "Necromaniac" by California's favorite gore strategists, Exhumed, is streaming below. The track comes by way of the band's forthcoming Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998 - 2015 full-length.

Proclaims guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey, ""Necromaniac" was a song that we felt best exemplified what we were going for on Gore Metal: Possessed and Repulsion ripoff riffs, grunts, screams, whammy bar obnoxiousness, and a traditional song structure. Hence why we chose it for the album's lead-off track. We've played the song countless times live throughout the years and I don't hate it yet, which is a good sign! This version is a lot more listenable and coherent, which may or not be a good thing depending on your taste. Anyway, if all that sounds like your kind of thing, give this revamped version a listen!"

With the re-unveiling of Exhumed's now-iconic full-length, Gore Metal: A Necrospective: 1998 - 2015, coming up, a renovated version of longtime live favorite, "Limb From Limb" is also streaming.

Expounds Matt Harvey: "So... for the second 'single' from our hubris-laden rerecording of gore metal, here's live staple "Limb From Limb". This one has been rerecorded pretty much exactly how we've played it live for years now; faster and a bit punchier than the original - not to mention infinitely more audible - and with the lovely chainsaw solo in the bridge. Now that's what I call musical development! Anyway, it's a great tune to piss off some neighbors with and will hopefully inspire you to find new and atrocious uses for your motorized home and garden appliances. Cheers, and enjoy!"

Originally released in 1998, Exhumed's now-classic debut full-length, Gore Metal, was a boundary defying offering of filth-ridden, grinding, over-the-top death-metal. Unrepentantly fast, furious and maniacal, Gore Metal gleamed with a delightful audio repugnance bedecked in blazing riff infiltrations, slasher-film-inspired lyrics and vile cover art. It was the record that made Carcass seem PG-rated by comparison and thus certified itself as a true underground classic.

Not content to let the album rot away, Exhumed returned to the studio almost two decades later to re-record the landmark offering. The resulting Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998 - 2015, set for release this February via Relapse Records, maintains the maniacal ferocity of the original recordings while adding depth to the sonic devourment thanks in no small part to years of touring and a vastly improved-sounding recording quality.

Proclaims vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey: "I'm super pumped that we got the chance to re-record Gore Metal. I don't think any of us were happy with how it turned out the first time around, so getting another shot at it meant a lot to me personally. I was also really excited to have our old friend Ross Sewage reprise his vocals on the new version, ensuring that it still sounds like that era of Exhumed, though things are a lot more audible this time around!"
