EXMORTUS Release Instrumental BEETHOVEN Cover To Celebrate Composer’s Birthday; Video

Showcasing their passion for classical music, Los Angeles-based neoclassical metal-inspired extreme shred quartet, Exmortus, have revealed a new track from their upcoming release, Ride Forth. In celebration of iconic composer Ludwig van Beethoven's birthday, the band has covered one of his most famous pieces, “Appassionata." Check out the instrumental track's animated video below.

Having previously covered Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata (Act 3)" on their Prosthetic debut Slave To The Sword, drummer Mario Moreno chimed in on their decision to include "Appassionata" on the new album: "Being classical music fans, we thought it would be cool to do another classical piece for 'Ride Forth,' and once again we picked something from Beethoven because he’s rad and shreds the keys. What better time to release this track than on the month and guesstimated day he was born?"

Exmortus  will further their claim that "metal is king" in early 2016 with their blistering new album, Ride Forth. The band recently unveiled another pulverizing new track from their forthcoming release. The heroic lyric video for "Death To Tyrants" can be seen below:

Ride Forth was recorded earlier this year with producer Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Immolation) before the group hit the road alongside guitar legend Marty Friedman on his recent North American tour. More details about the new album will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Having previously shared stages with the likes of Kyng, Destruction, Dark Tranquillity, Krisiun and Hatchet, Exmortus will next appear at Southern California's Winter Slaughter Fest with Flotsam & Jetsam and label mates Holy Grail before kicking off the new year with an intense seven-week jaunt alongside Enforcer, Warbringer and Cauldron.

Full dates and information can be found here.

The menacing cover for the new release – featuring oil-painted artwork by the legendary Philip Lawvere (Kreator, Celtic Frost), who previously contributed his epic artistry to the band's 2014 label debut, Slave To The Sword – can be seen below.
