FATES WARNING, APOCALYPTICA, EMPEROR, NAPALM DEATH Among Latest Acts Confirmed For Wacken Open Air 2017; Video Trailer Posted

It has been just about 48 days, but it seems like ages. For all those who want to reduce the waiting time to the 28th Wacken Open Air, below is the very latest trailer with previously unpublished images to enjoy. In addition, new sounds from the W: O: A headquarters playing a very special tune: the line-up for 2017 is growing.

The Finnish Cello rockers of Apocalyptica will go back to their roots: In Wacken they are doing a show called “Apocalyptica-Plays Metallica By Four Cellos”. Although the band gained a drummer and a singer since their debut album from 1996, the old Metallica covers still have their own kind of magic.

The Norwegian black metal veterans Emperor will celebrate their acclaimed studio album Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk in Wacken 20 years after its first release - a definitive rarity since the show at Wacken will be Emperor’s only show in Germany in 2017.

Also Turbonegro will be hitting the stage at the Wacken Open Air 2017 - ten years after their first and last show at the W:O:A, the Norwegians are coming back to the Holy Ground - with news songs and some new band members.

Even after 30 years the Grindcore pioneers of Napalm Death are rising the flag against social and political grievances – 75,000 metalheads can enjoy their energetic live show next Wacken.

A band, who co-founded progressive metal comes back as well to the Holy Wacken Land in 2017: Fates Warning.

This new batch of bands is supplemented by Soilwork, Orange Goblin, ASP, Grand Magus, Aura Noir and Rage. The newly confirmed bands will be in good company at Wacken Open Air 2017. In August, Amon Amarth, Avantasia, Kreator, Mayhem, Saltatio Mortis, Paradise Lost, Heaven Shall Burn, Lacuna Coil, Powerwolf, Candlemass, Sonata Arctica and Hämatom were announced.

In addition to the eleven bands, there is more good news: metalheads who don’t want to miss these metallic treats can still secure tickets exclusively at www.metaltix.com and +49 4827-999 666 66. The regular 3-day-ticket costs 220 € incl. fees (plus shipping + system fee).
