Fear Factory has released a video recap of their July 7th show in Lille, France. See the new footage below:
Fear Factory, have released a lyric video for the brand new track “Protomech”. The song comes from their metallic masterpiece, Genexus, which will be released worldwide on August 7th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
Fear Factory previously released a lyric video for the track “Soul Hacker”, from Genexus.
Genexus was produced by vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares, and co-produced by long-time collaborator Rhys Fulber. The album was mixed by famed British producer and engineer, Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Testament). Drums on Genexus were performed by Mike Heller (Malignancy).
Genexus can be pre-ordered by itself or in various bundles at this location.
In celebration of the release, the band will be holding a special pre-listening party prior to the album’s release, on July 23rd at the Complex in Glendale (806 E. Colorado St., Glendale, CA). This event is for those 21 and over, totally FREE, and open to the general public. All attendees will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a Fear Factory Genexus guitar, courtesy of Ibanez guitars.
"Please come and join me, Dino, Mike and Tony for a fun evening,” says vocalist Burton C. Bell. “We will have just returned from a European tour, and will be leaving the next day to tour with Coal Chamber! Have some liquid beverages and listen to the new album, as well as select songs that we will indulge you with. It will be a great evening!"
This event is first come, first serve. Attendees are advised to show up early in order to secure entry. For more details and to RSVP visit this location.
“The word genexus is a hybrid of two words; genesis and nexus,” explains vocalist Burton C. Bell. “This word describes the next transition in human evolution as man moves forward to a ‘mechanical’ state of being. Ray Kurzweil predicts that the singularity will occur around 2045. Genexus is the term for that next evolutionary process. Where humans are machines, machines are human, and the differences are oblivious to the naked eye.
“This album is a record of thought patterns, psychology and struggles of the Genexus generation. The cognitive machine has arrived, and it wants autonomy from the industry that created it. This machine struggles, like every other human has throughout the course of history. This is the story of every one of us.”
Artwork was once again handled by artist Anthony Clarkson.

Fear Factory will be touring Europe in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their highly revered second studio album Demanufacture. The tour will be a very rare event for fans with Fear Factory playing Demanufacture in its entirety. They will also showcase songs from new album Genexus.
Burton and Dino had to say of this unique event: “If you had told us in 1995 that we would be touring Demanufacture for its 20th Anniversary in 2015, we would have said 'YA RIGHT! GET FUCKED!'. The years have flown by in colourful and adventurous memory. 2015 has arrived, and Fear Factory WILL be performing Demanufacture in its entirety for the very first time for the UK and Ireland fans in December. We are very excited to perform this seminal album for the audience that made Demanufacture a legendary success.”
BraveWords asked Bell about the possibility in 2012: "There’s some songs on that record that have never been played live before. It was definitely a pinnacle moment in Fear Factory’s history. (When) people hear it from start to finish live they’ll be pretty stoked.”
Demanufacture, their second album (1995),was a landmark release for Fear Factory and for the Metal genre. It is generally considered as the band’s defining work and a heavy metal classic with its refined production, industrial textures, precise musicianship and greater dimension of sound. It succeeded in giving the band a more futuristic feel than previous works. The concept is based around one man’s struggles against a machine controlled government – with each song marking a chapter in his life, taking huge inspiration from the ‘Terminator’ film series. Relationship with Producer Rhys Fulber continues to this day, him having worked with Fear Factory on Demanufacture and Genexus plus many works in the interim.
