Finnish progressive metal quartet, Oddland, has signed with New Jersey-based Sensory Records for the impending release of the band's second album, Origin.

Oddland recorded Origin at Fantom Studio (Insomnium, Korpiklaani, Oranssi Pazuzu) after which it was mixed and mastered by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir). Containing over forty-five minutes of music, the album bears a theme which ties deeply into the lyrics and extensive artwork, with a separate piece of art being created for each of the nine songs, which is currently being completed by Egyptian artist Mohammed Essam.

Declares Oddland on signing with Laser's Edge division Sensory Records, "It has been a very long process writing and recording the second album and we are extremely excited to be working with Laser's Edge/Sensory Records in finally releasing it. They have a great roster and we just feel right at home."

Laser's Edge head Ken Golden states of the signing, "About four years ago I was taken by surprise by this Finnish band that came out of left field. Oddland's debut knocked me on my ass - the epitome of thinking man's metal. When the band reached out to us about joining our roster I didn't hesitate a second. Oddland creates provocative metal with soul. It's an honor to have them on board.

A summer street date for Origin, as well as previews of the artwork, audio samples, videos, and more on the album will be leaked in the weeks ahead.

Founded in 2003 in Turku, Finland, Oddland, stylistically incorporates a broad spectrum of tones and methods into their forward-thinking delivery, melding aggressive tones, spacious textures, and glorious melodies into a seamless and cohesive entity. Following a string of successful demos, the band was signed to Century Media for the 2012 release of their The Treachery Of Senses debut album. Mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, the record was greeted with a barrage of critical acclaim, and praised as the best prog-metal record ever recorded in Finland.

Oddland has performed at played a number of festivals including FME, Tuska, Headway, and Progpower Europe, in addition to many shows alongside the likes of established acts including Soen, Leprous, Swallow the Sun, Omnium Gatherum, Amoral, and more throughout Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, and beyond.
