Florida’s BHAVACHAKRA Sign To Translation Loss Records
July 22, 2016, 8 years ago
Translation Loss has announced the signing of the ambitious death/black metal band, Bhavachakra. The Floridian quartet will release their eponymous album via the label on Septeber 23rd later this year.
The word "Bhavachakra" itself coming from eastern theology; the name is given to the depiction of a large demon holding a wheel, which represents each of the different realms of rebirth one may find themselves in, depending on their karma in the cycle of life. It is these very concepts and lyrical themes the band employs on their crushing debut full-length.
Bhavachakra founder Kenneth Redar comments on the premiere:
"Kali Yuga is the name given to the fourth and final epoch in the procession of epochs that must reach their conclusion before the Universe is born again and starts over anew. Kali Yuga is the age of vice. The age of materialism, chaos and pain. The darkest of the four ages and the one we currently find ourselves living in. Kali Yuga, the last song on the album, is about an awareness of existing in this age and coming together as a collective organism to move beyond material and interpersonal strife."
Redar continues to discuss the full-length and signing:
"This first Bhavachakra album (Self-titled), our full length debut, is the result of a series of compositions written in 2014/2015. This being the first album I've written completely on my own it was also a new opportunity to tackle conceptual / lyrical material I've always been impassioned about. Concepts ranging from Buddhism / Hinduism, duality, the cosmos and our rapidly deteriorating planet. Musical influences included Gorguts, Krallice, 1349, Deathspell Omega and others. I was very excited when Translation Loss Records expressed interest in releasing this album. Their roster rich with artists and bands I've always greatly respected and admired such as Dysrhythmia, Rosetta and Intronaut. We're honored to be working with Translation Loss Records to release the Bhavachakra debut full-length in physical form."
