Almost a dozen new bands are confirmed for the Wacken Open Air 2016. Next to old friends, some bands are celebrating their first show at the Holy Wacken Land. The 75,000 metalheads can look forward to Parkway Drive, Bullet for My Valentine, Arch Enemy and Foreigner.
55 days ago the metal community said goodbye to their Holy Wacken Land with a heavy heart. Meanwhile there is nothing much left which reminds of the big metal and mud party which over 75,000 metalheads celebrated for over three days. Now the promoters have big news.
“We always have some highlights which we present at the Hamburg Metal Dayz. One of them surely is Arch Enemy which did an awesome show last time at the Wacken“, said Thomas Jensen, one of the promoters. Whereas Parkway Drive will be performing for the first time at the W:O:A. The five guys from Australia are living proof that the metal scene is alive and vivid. The Metalcore band from Bullet for My Valentine will be also part of the line-up 2016. It will be the second time performing for the US band.
The next freshmen at the festival will be Foreigner. The hard rock band certainly has their hits “Cold As Ice“, “Juke Box Hero“ and “Hot Blooded“ on the set list. Furthermore the metalheads can look forward to the following bands: Ihsahn, Entombed A.D., Dagoba, Michael Monroe, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Einherjer and Alcest.
“Every year it is important for us to find a balanced music mix for the Holy Wacken Land. Metal is so diverse and we try to display this diversity at every Wacken festival. The current line-up is reflecting this already pretty good. As usual we will release more bands in our Advent calendar in December“, Holger Hübner adds to the recent band confirmations.
The new eleven 11 bands are joining the following artists at the W:O:A 2016: Blind Guardian, Ministry, Steel Panther, Eluveitie, Dragonforce, Callejon, Axel Rudi Pell, Legion of the Damned, Orden Ogan, Orphaned Land, Borknagar, Eskimo Callboy, Henry Rollins Spoken Word, Therion, Unisonic, Kylesa and Pyogenesis.
In exactly three weeks another festival billing milestone will be set: On October 16th the promoter will release another metal top act for Wacken 2016.
