Former MORBID ANGEL Frontman DAVID VINCENT Covers JOHNNY CASH Live With DANNY B. HARVEY; Video

Former Morbid Angel singer David Vincent performed a version of Johnny Cash’s “Big River” with Danny B. Harvey (Headcat, The 69 Cats) last Friday (January 22nd) at NAMMJam 2016, at the City National Grove Of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA. Check out video footage below:

Des Moines thrashers Green Death recently signed a deal with Megadeth co-founder/bassist David Ellefson’s EMP (Ellefson Music Productions) Label Group imprint, who will re-release the bands independent masterpiece Manufacturing Evil in spring 2016.

David Vincent provided vocals for the track “Gates Of Hell”. He states: “Had fun working with the guys from Green Death and proud to have provided guest vocals on the track, "Gates Of Hell”, on their soon-to-released album, Manufacturing Evil on EMP Label Group. Album will be out on April 1st, everywhere! Get it. Know you'll enjoy this!” ~Evil D

With the core of the band playing together for well over a decade, Green Death, vocalist Sol Bales, drummer Ryan Berrier, guitarists Erich Tran and Mark Reinking , and bassist Parker Willis,  have become a staple in the Midwest Metal scene, earning their stripes playing alongside artists like Suicidal Tendencies, Sevendust, Trivium, Napalm Death, Battlecross, John 5, Soulfly, Devildriver, Havok, Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals, Sebastian Bach, Doyle, Soulfly, Black Dahlia Murder, Slipknot, Dying Fetus, and more, and releasing two LPs. Their “big break” came in 2015 when Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor offered the band a slot on Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA, with Slipknot, Judas Priest, Korn, Mastodon, All that Remains, and more, and introduced them to EMP A&R director Thom Hazaert, who immediately sent the band’s material to Ellefson (on tour in India at the time with Megadeth), and the band were signed 4 days later.

The band has released a promotional trailer with footage from Knotfest featuring Taylor:

Says Ellefson, “From the minute I heard Green Death I knew these guys were doing something different; one foot firmly planted in the roots of classic thrash, the other pushing the boundaries of Metal forward. These guys definitely have something special. An amazing, progressive band, with an amazing work ethic. And the connection with Corey, who I love, and the introduction coming from him via Thom. (As I’m writing this about to board a plane to Mexico to play Knotfest with Megadeth.) It was just a no brainer.” Ellefson is the bassist and co-founder of Megadeth, the pioneering thrash Metal group that has sold more than 30 million records Worldwide.
