Fusion Guitarist ITANI Launches '70s / '80s Rock Tribute Band ROKKA-KOOSTIX, Video For "Smoke On The Water" Cover Posted

Japanese fusion guitarist Nozomi Itani, who has a strong solo career, has launched Rokka-Koostix. The band pays tribute to the great bands from the '70s to the '80s, performing songs from Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/CD, Nazareth, Uriah Heep and much more with unique arrangements.

Rokka-Koostix is Itani Nozomi, Mami Yamamoto and Hirokuni Honjou. For more information and updates check out the official Facebook page here.

Itani released his Station To Station solo album in 2013. featured guests include Madmen & Sinners guitarist/founder Tim Donahue on fretless guitar and thrashers United guitarist Singo Otani on 7-string.

Donahue plays on the Station To Station tracks "Leather Jacket" and "Critical Limit". Check out audio samples of all tracks via the widgets at the bottom of the page.

Itani and Donahue teamed up for a live show on January 25th, 2013 in Tokyo, Japan at Live House Welcome Back. Donahue hit the stage with Itani on fretless electric guitar for the track 'Critical Limit' during the set; fan-filmed video is available below:
