More than 35 rare guitars and amplifiers owned by rock star Gary Moore are expected to fetch almost £120,000 at auction, reports Express.co.uk.
The Northern Ireland musician, who died of a heart attack in 2011, made his name in the band Thin Lizzy before having a string of hits during a successful solo career. He experimented with many musical genres, including rock, jazz, blues, country and even heavy metal, had a successful solo career and shared the stage with blues and rock musicians including BB King and George Harrison.
A 1963 Fender Stratocaster, with an estimate of £12,000, is a highlight of the sale.
Stephen Maycock, a specialist for auctioneers Bonhams, said: "Before his death, Gary Moore had amassed an incredible collection of instruments. Some 35 guitars, as well as a selection of vintage amplifiers, will be offered at auction for the first time. As you'd expect from such a great musician, there's a lot of interesting guitars in the collection, including several Gibson Les Paul models."
Moore died of a heart attack aged 58 while he was on holiday in Spain in February 2011, reportedly after an alcohol binge.
