GEOFF TATE - "I Don't Have To Make Records; I Do It Because I Love It"
February 5, 2018, 6 years ago
Thirty years ago Queensrÿche produced their career defining masterpiece, Operation: Mindcrime, an album that not only helped create progressive metal but also was one of the finest metal releases ever. The band that created that album may well have fractured since then but lead singer Geoff Tate had a point to prove embarking on his first ever solo tour of the UK playing Operation: Mindcrime in its entirety. Metal Express Radio`s Mick Burgess caught up with Tate during the tour to talk about the creation and legacy of their ground-breaking opus.
On the latest episode of Talking Metal, Mark Strigl interviews Geoff Tate. Topics include the new album The New Reality by Operation: Mindcrime, the making of Queensrÿche's Operation: Mindcrime album, Bruce Dickinson, Rod Smallwood, Chris DeGarmo, Eddie Jackson, 2018 touring plans, Three Tremors and much more.
