It is definitely no coincidence that Napalm Records, home of bands like Monster Magnet, God Is An Astronaut, My Sleeping Karma and Desert Rock legend John Garcia, has already been keeping an eye on Suns Of Thyme and recently announces the worldwide signing of the band.

It’s hard to imagine that something called krautgaze could grow up in any other place than Berlin. In its glittering darkness, the city is a perfect breeding ground for a band like Suns Of Thyme. The five-piece crashes together space rock, shoegaze, psych and Velvet Underground on its sophomore album Cascades, out on May 27th via Napalm Records.

Today the quintet unveils their first lyric video, for the track “Do Or Die” (streaming below).

Singer Tobias Feltes about "Do Or Die": “My intellect was trying to understand or conceptualize something that is unintelligible. To go beyond, the intellect might bring the answers we’ve been looking for. After recognizing the unknown, misconceptions and the accompanying fear can vanish.”

Bassist Jens Rosenkranz about the video: “In the video we wanted to show the struggles of a young writer to overcome her fear of failure. She manages when she realizes that it is a matter of do or die.”

Cascades was mastered by Brian Lucey, Magic Garden Mastering in Los Angeles (The Black Keys, Marilyn Manson, Arctic Monkeys, Ray LaMontagne, Ghost).
