GOJIRA To Release “Stranded” Single This Friday; Teaser Video Streaming

France’s Gojira will release “Stranded”, the first single from their upcoming Magma album, this Friday, April 22nd. A teaser video can be seen below:
The band recently launched another teaser video for Magma, due for release this summer via Roadrunner. Watch below:
Speaking with RollingStone.com about the new album, Gojira frontman Joseph Duplantier says, “We want a short album. Something less epic than what we usually do. People's attentions are shorter now. So a lot of the songs are four minutes."
The album is full of moments that remind Joseph and his brother Mario Duplantier of their late mother, a woman who encouraged them from the very beginning and bought Mario his first drum kit when she saw how fascinated he was by Metallica. "She was amazing," he says.
"The songs were half-written while she was sick," Joe says. "After she died, I still had to finish them. So one song was like, 'You're going to make it,' but the second verse is 'You didn't make it’.”
