Greek black metal masters Zemial will tour North America for their first time ever since their inception in 1989, and will be gracing Toronto with their mystical, occult metal summoning on September 13th at The Rivoli. They will be joined by Brooklyn’s raw black metal band Throaat as their tour support and local heavy/black metal favourites Demontage. 

Zemial is a one man band with all compositions written, performed, and produced/recorded by Archon Vorskaath. With little aptness to spare, Vorskaath has been a contributor to many musical endeavors including Agatus, Absu, Varathron, Kawir, Nocternity, The Firstborn, Crimson Moon, Equimantorn, and many more. 
Some of his other personal projects include Alpha Centauri, Stone Cold Dead, and The Watcher as well as a free jazz collaboration with Markus Stockhausen in Eternal Voyage.

In earlier times, Zemial drew a lot of inspiration from Quorthon, who is of course the black, thrash, and Viking metal legend Bathory himself, Celtic Frost and other extreme metal. Later works have demonstrated heavy influence from progressive rock and electronic soundscapes, putting Zemial in a category of its own. Vorskaath has proclaimed the current Zemial as avant-garde metal, and refuses to constrict himself to musical boundaries. 

While Vorskaath will be performing on drums, analogue synthesizer and lead vocals on the tour, he will be joined by new members Chaosmos on guitar and vocals and AR on bass and vocals, both arriving into Zemial from a jazz and rock background, to complete Zemial’s new Avant Garde direction.  

After performing at Germany’s PartySan Festival and Beyond the Gates Festival in Norway, Zemial fly across the Atlantic and head to Baltimore to embark on their first ever North American tour spanning 12 different cities in the USA and Canada. Zemial will be playing the sold-out Montreal metal festival Wings of Metal, which is hosting a number of well renowned bands including Razor, Angel Witch, Mefisto, and Vulcain among many others from across the world.
