Guitarist GUS G. Issues FIREWIND Update - “We’re Trying To Set A Goal For The End Of 2016”; Audio

Metal Shock Finland's Blackdiamond recently caught up with Ozzy Osbourne / Firewind guitarist Gus G., to discuss his forthcoming album Brand New Revolution. Gus offers the following update on Firewind:

“I’ve got a few new songs I’ve been working on, we’ll see what happens with that. You know, I need to find some down time to develop that. We’re trying to set a goal for the end of 2016 to go out and do some shows if we have any album out. But it’s hard to say at this point. We will come back and do another record. I’ve been working with somebody right now who I cannot reveal yet, but it’s going pretty good you know. We wrote one song together already and we’re working on a couple more. It sounds good so far!”

Gus G. has debuted the first song off his upcoming sophomore solo album, Brand New Revolution, which will be released on July 24th via Century Media Records in Europe, Australia and South America, Dismanic / eOne in North America and King Records in Japan.

Check out the song “Burn”, which features vocals by Jacob Bunton (Adler, Lynam), via a lyric video below.

Gus G. had the following to say about the track: "“Burn” is one of my favourite tracks on the new record. I was going for a very simple and catchy riff with a groove, something that will get metalheads banging their head right away. It's one of the songs I co-wrote with Jacob Bunton and I remember Jacob sending me the file with his demo vocals and the chorus just stuck with me instantly. I knew we had an awesome track happening. Play it loud, bang your head & enjoy!”

Additionally, a “making of” video for the artwork for Brand New Revolution, made by Gustavo Sazes, can be viewed below:

The album features guest vocal appearances by Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, Talisman), Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), Jacob Bunton (Adler, Lynam) and Mats Levén (Candlemass, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen).
