Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2016 edition has seen over 100 bands from across the country compete for One Band To Rule Them All to perform at the world’s largest metal fest Wacken Open Air 2016 in Wacken, Germany, which holds an attendance of over 80,000 metalheads. This past Saturday, on June 11th in Toronto, ON at The Opera House, the country’s top five bands, Vancouver’s The Mountain Man (BC Winner), Edmonton’s Tales of The Tomb (Prairie Winner), Hamilton’s Profaner and Toronto’s Pyramid Theorem (Ontario Winners) plus Montreal’s DistortHead (Quebec Winner) shredded their blood, sweat and metal for one to be crowned this year’s champion.
WMBC organizer JJ Tartaglia comments:
“After a close and epic battle our national champion that is Profaner has been yielded. We will be proud to showcase their brand of melodic death/thrash on behalf of Canadian metal to the holy fields of Wacken.”
Profaner will now move on to perform at the international battle at Wacken Open Air taking place from August 4-6 to represent Canada among 30 other participating countries. Full details here. Profaner will be defending Canada’s world title after Vesperia’s win last year.
