HANGING GARDEN Premier “Embers” Music Video; New Album Out Next Month

Even the current temperatures speaking a whole different language, autumn is already stretching out its feelers. Time for some Finnish melancholia in form of the brand new Hanging Garden single and video “Embers”, off their forthcoming album Blackout Whiteout.

"Embers was a song we all liked from the start. With simple riffs and dreamlike melodies, the song just got better and better as we went on with the recordings. Finally Mr. Fredrik Norrman added his personal touch and the song was perfect. It's also the first Hanging Garden song without any aggressive vocals." comments Hanging Garden's Jussi Hämäläinen on the song.

Alexander Dietz of Heaven Shall Burn, who was responsible for the mastering of Blackout Whiteout about the new album: "Sometimes something is sent to you to finish up that is so good that you have no words to describe. if you work on a lot of music then surely not every album you put your work on makes it to your permanent playlist...Right now i am in exactly that situation that i have the opportunity to work on material that absolutely blew my mind and is already on my ipod. this happens not every month. I can't wait till people get a chance to hear a masterpiece by this Finnish band....check them out..."

Nino Hynninen about the video concept: "We had already a couple of years ago the idea of using acrobatics or dance as a narrative element in a music video. The idea about collaboration on Embers with the talented circus artist Juho Sarno arose during the recordings and you can really feel the emotion, spirit and force he's conveying in communication with fire and embers."

Blackout Whiteout contains guest appearances by Ville Sorvali (Moonsorrow) and Fredrik Norrman (October Tide).

Hanging Garden are all about atmospheric and heavy music – no matter which musical style is necessary to create impressive contrasts that affect listeners in the innermost. Being around since 2004 and having released two albums for Spikefarm Records – Inherit The Eden (2004) and Teotwawki (2009) – the Finnish group already introduced their view on depressive and emotional disturbing music that is based on the dualism of beauty and harshness. With Lifeforce Records debut At Every Door (2013) and follow-up EP I Was A Soldier (2013) the band discovered an even more accentuated and distinctive mix of different genres including doom influences, melodic death, post metal and post rock as well as acoustic and folk quotations.

The Finns do not follow trends and defy conventions. Blackout Whiteout is the fourth full length of the Finns, and follows the path of its precursors. Without noticeable velocity Hanging Garden portrays an introspective journey on the path of contradiction; of darkness and light, sorrow and joy that is called life.. The title already reflects an inner conflict and a putative antagonism. Following the nine tracks there are hints of optimism, but overall listeners will undergo depressive and less confident music. In addition, the importance of subtle modifications increases when it comes to the songwriting of the new album. Hanging Garden know how to integrate subliminal tendencies to ensnare listeners and to enable them to immerge into the graceful, yet emotional darkness of Blackout Whiteout.

Hanging Garden's 4th album Blackout Whiteout is due to be released on September 25th in Europe and October 16th in North America.
