“Yesterday I approved the mastering for the two new Helix songs (“The Devil Is Having A Party Tonight” and “The Tequila Song”) coming out on red vinyl. It should take about 6 weeks to get the actual 12" records in my hand, just in time for Christmas. There are only 300 of these records, so get 'em while they last. They will not be re-pressed. “Here are a few of the reasons this is a great collector's item:

1. Red translucent vinyl. 12" record which runs at 45 speed for better quality. (Rob Bursey can rejoice now!)

2. Two songs one side. The other side has a devil's face as "wallpaper". When you hold the album up the red is translucent and the devil's faces show through the vinyl.

3. Inside sleeve. It costs more to have an inside sleeve with artwork. That's why some records don't have it. Added bonus: Our inside sleeve has everyone's name, what they play, and a place for each band member to personally sign. (which we will). This is something I've NEVER seen on an album but which makes perfect sense. What got me on to this was signing CDs, etc. at the merchandise booth... Some of the CDs (and a lot of the shirts) have no where for the band to sign unless you have a silver marker or are adept at writing in ant language. LOL. Instead of having to decipher some chicken scratch writing and then figure out what the person plays, it's all laid out in front of you. And only 300 are to be pressed...m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m...

The inside sleeve also has the lyrics to both songs and B-roll pictures from our Victor Azziz photo session which we filmed at Mike McDowell's head shop "The Hippy Company" (THC). Thanks Mike for use of the store. You're a good friend.

4. The songs! These two new tracks rock! And for now they will only be available on vinyl or as a digital download through CD Baby. The first (“The Devil Is Having A Party Tonight”) was written by Kaleb, Chris, Fritz, Daryl, and myself. Daryl produced. This was the first song written by this line-up and not the last. Everyone is proud of what we came up with. They should be.

“The second track, "The Tequila Song" was written by myself, Steve Georgakopoulos, and Gord Prior. Steve and Gord wrote "The Power Of Rock And Roll" with me, and Gord has long been associated with the band in a writing capacity, having been a writer on "Take It Or Leave It" from the B-Sides CD. It's a quirky little number that's one big punch line. You'll understand when you hear it. We'll be releasing that song on the same day we release the vinyl.”
