In some ways, Post Pop Depression picks up where Lust for Life left off. “Where those records pointed, it stopped,” Homme tells the New York Times. “But without copying it … that direction actually goes for miles. And when you keep going for miles you can’t see these two records any more.”
Queens Of The Stone Age/Dead Weather keyboardist/guitarist Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders also play on the album.
