After five years of bringing their whirlwind live shows across Europe and India, Bangalore metal band Inner Sanctum have released their debut album Legions Awake, following an appearance at Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway and a homecoming launch gig at CounterCulture in Bangalore.
Apart from eight unrelenting heavy hitters such as “March Of The Wounded”, “Realms Of Oblivion” and their first single “Wake Of Destruction”, Legions Awake features three legendary metal guitarists from the metal community, Christopher Amott (Armageddon, ex-Arch Enemy), Daniel Mongrain (Voivod, Martyr, ex-Gorguts, ex-Cryptopsy, Capharnaum) and James Murphy (ex-Death, ex-Testament, ex-Obituary, ex-Lazarus A.D.) providing solos on the track “Existence Denied”.
The band has roped in producer/engineer Lasse Lammert, who also worked with the band on their 2009 debut EP Provenance, to fly down to Bangalore early last year to record the nine-track album. Lasse says about recording with the band, “This album is definitely not going to sound polite. Inner Sanctum’s live performance is extremely energetic and their new songs are even better than the old ones… so if we manage to capture that on the album, I’m sure people across the globe are going to bang their heads.”
