In episode #66 of The Double Stop Podcast, host Brian Sword is joined by shred guitarist Joey Tafolla (Jag Panzer, solo, Michael Sweet).
Joey Tafolla discusses his life and career. From his early days learning guitar (and his highly musical family), to the record label he co-founded at 19, on again/off again (and now currently on again) history with Jag Panzer, his solo shredder career with Shrapnel Records (and work with Tony MacAlpine), giving guitar lessons to Buckethead, his tour with the Michael Sweet solo band, and his upcoming projects.
On his role with Jag Panzer: “In my heart, I believe I play well in different instances, but I play best with Jag Panzer. And I believe that no other guitar player shines as well in that band as I do. That the band actually plays better with me. I love the guys, and they're a big part of my childhood, and we have a good time every time we get together.”
