K.K. DOWNING Doesn’t Rule Out Return To JUDAS PRIEST - “We’ll Have To See What Happens Next”

Five years on from K.K. Downing’s departure from Judas Priest, the legendary guitarist tells BlastEcho that he doesn’t completely close the door on a return to the band.

Asked if he’d return on the occasion of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inducting Judas Priest, Downing says he’d make the trip Stateside to attend. “I’d be fine with anything like that,” he says.

As for a reunion prior to that unlikely induction, Downing says, “Obviously they have Richie (Faulkner) there. Maiden has done the three-guitar player (thing), but I don’t think there’s room for an extra guitar player in Priest. Priest has always been a two-guitar band so I can’t see that working. We’ll have to see what happens next.”

Downing was recently a guest on The Five Count radio show based in Mankato, MN and revealed some of the reasons for his departure from the band in 2011, stating it was due to "lots and lots of other reasons; some small, some not so small. And collectively, putting everything together, I thought that I wasn't totally in a happy place, so I thought it was time to make way."

Downing recently uploaded the video Toys In The Attic Vol. 2, showing off his guitar gear from 80s Hamers up to KxK s 2016. Watch the new clip, as well as Toys In The Attic Vol. 1, below:

He recently posted footage of him breaking down the solo of the mellow classic “Before The Dawn” (from Judas Priest’s 1978 album Killing Machine; Hell Bent For Leather in North America).
