The 2015 Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of America's Grammy Awards) took place on March 14th in Hamilton, Ontario at FirstOntario Centre. The Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year nominees were as follows:
Kataklysm - Waiting For The End To Come
Devin Townsend Project - Z²
Skull Fist - Chasing The Dream
Shooting Guns - Brotherhood Of The Ram
Single Mothers - Negative Qualities
Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono checked in from the awards shortly after the winner of the category was announced:
"Congrats to Devin Townsend. Well deserved, bro. With our next album it's ours."In addition, Iacono posted the a photo from the Juno Awards 2015 with the following comment:
"These boys at this table Jeff 'Gibber' Gibson, Duke Foster, Arnout Devree and producer Ashton Price are great friends. It was reunion long overdue of over 15 years. These guys helped rebuild Kataklysm in the late '90s by lodging us, feeding us and treating us like brothers in difficult times. We learned to be better writers here, too. Fast forward and today we are nominated for a Juno award in the same town that helped this band climb out of the darkness. This is where I started singing for the band. It was good to catch up on memories. This is worth more than a nomination for me. It's a look back at what it took to survive this cruel industry. We are strong now and were going to do many more good things , trust me on that."
