KERRY KING Says “This Is Definitely The Last Version Of SLAYER Anyone Will See”

In a new interview with the Detroit Free Press, Slayer guitarist Kerry King said the making of their new album Repentless was definitely different without his late comrade in arms Jeff Hanneman.

“The weirdest thing for me was just the presence not there,” King said, referring to Hanneman. However, “that’s not going to affect how people hear this record - they’re going to hear it just how they heard the last four or five records.”

As for Exodus guitarist Gary Holt and returned drummer Paul Bostaph, King hopes they’ll stay with Slayer for the long haul, even though Holt continues in his role as the main songwriter and guitarist in Exodus.

“I have no desire to change things up,” King said of the current band lineup. “If I had my choice in how things play out, yeah, this is definitely the last version of Slayer anyone will see.”

"“Repentless” is my Jeff tribute," said Slayer's Kerry King. "I call it the 'HannemAnthem’.  It's my perspective of Jeff's perspective, it's what I think... if Jeff wrote a song for himself, “Repentless” would be it."

Arrogance, violence, world in disarray
Dealing with insanity every fuckin' day
I hate the life, hate the fame, hate the fuckin' scene
Pissing match of egos, fuck their vanity
