LAMB OF GOD’s Randy Blythe On New Album - “It Would Be Disingenuous For Me To Get Out And Write A Prison Record”; Audio
July 29, 2015, 9 years ago
Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe called into Do You Know Jack? Radio to chat about his book Dark Days: A Memoir as well, albeit briefly, about the new Lamb Of God album.
Says Blythe: “It would be disingenuous for me to get out and write a prison record (album). That would be ludicrous... It would also be really opportunistic because, unlike my book, which I have specific clear points, and can convey exactly what I want to say, on a record lyrics are open to interpretation. To me it would seem disrespectful to use it as a creative well to draw inspiration from."
Lamb Of God's new album, Sturm Und Drang, is out now. VII: Sturm Und Drang is once again produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur with engineering by Wilbur, Nick Rowe, and Kyle McAulay, and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, CA and Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, CA.
Randy Blythe comments on the release of the new album: “Over twenty years ago this band started in the basement - we're still standing, and I'm still stoked to be putting out new music. As always, play it LOUD.”
