LEMMY Action Figure To Be Re-Issued In July 2016

Originally released in 2008 as the first piece in LocoApe’s ongoing Icon Figure Series, an action figure of Motörhead legend Lemmy Kilmister is due to be re-issued in July 2016. Pre-order details are available here.

"Each 6-inch tall articulated figure includes strap accessories, a microphone and stand, a figural base, a Motorhead logo plate, and 1 of 4 different Rickenbacker replica bass guitar variations featuring real strings! The guitar variation included with the Motorhead Lemmy Kilmister 6-Inch Action Figure is completely random."

A video featuring Lemmy talking about the original "toy" back in 2008 can be viewed  below.

Lemmy passed away at his home in Los Angeles on December 28, 2015 just several days after his 70th birthday.

A memorial was held in his honor on January 9, 2016 at his famous hangout in West Hollywood, The Rainbow Bar & Grill,  and extended across the entire Sunset Strip. Talk of erecting a statue in Lemmy’s honor was already underway and a funding campaign was created to make the project a reality.

LA-based artist and friend of the Rainbow and the Sunset Strip, Travis Moore has been selected to create a realistic depiction of Lemmy. The result will be a life-size cast bronze statue that will stand at just over six foot tall to be permanently housed at The Rainbow Bar & Grill in a special shrine that is currently being constructed in the patio bar area, reports California Rock News.

Travis is initially sculpting the likeness as an 18-inch maquette that will then be transferred to a life-size sculpture, which will be molded in wax and ultimately poured and cast in bronze.

Further details can be found at this location.
