MAD HATTER'S DEN Gearing Up For Release Of Second Album; Cover Art Revealed, New Video Posted

Mad Hatter’s Den, a melodic heavy metal band from Finland, are proud to announce the release of their second album: Excelsior. The album is released April 8th, 2016 worldwide by Finnish record label Inverse Records.

Mad Hatter’s Den main musical influences draw from classic heavy metal, but on the band’s second album, listeners can look forward to finding many more: symphonic influences, power metal input, and even some progressive flavours. The style and sound of Mad Hatter’s Den owe to some extend also to the heavier bands of the 1980’s, but with Mad Hatter’s Den, the focus always lies in the melodies.

The new album, Excelsior, presents the combination that creates the special sound and style of Mad Hatter’s Den: Some songs are more guitar oriented, while in other songs the keyboards are the main instrument. Listeners can expect no-nonsense heavy metal tunes, great riffs and catchy melodies, but enough technical virtuosity to satisfy the more demanding listeners as well. The depth of Mad Hatter’s Den’s music, with an abundance of different elements inside their songs, is a surprise for most, and even a challenge for some!

Excelsior also introduces changes to Mad Hatter’s Den’s line-up. Arto Pitkänen, who joined the band during the Welcome To The Den tour 2013, can now be heard working his drums on album. Jarno Vitri, who joined Mad Hatter’s Den first to play bass, has now also the job of lead vocalist. The bands founding members, Jaakko Hänninen and Kari Korhonen, continue on the guitar, and Petja Puumalainen’s skills on the keyboards complete the package.

"We've had a great time preparing the album, and are really looking forward to the upcoming gigs", says Jaakko. ”I think that Welcome To The Den was quite good album, but in all honesty, I think that Excelsior will surpass our previous album in every aspect", he adds.
