MADMEN & SINNERS Mastermind TIM DONAHUE Posts New Harp Guitar Performance Video

Fretless / harp guitarist Tim Donahue  (Madmen & Sinners) has checked in with a new video clip featuring a performance on an electric harp guitar he designed:

"Here is another example of how I intergrate the harp notes with the guitar notes to create melodies spread across all the strings. This piece is quite difficult to play because of the degree of accuracy needed to pull it off smoothly. Originally written as a thanks to Will Ackerman, and used for my Tech Talk Series.

For folks who ask how I compose: I actually don't know how I compose these pieces. They just come out and I grab them as they go by. But Will was the inspiration for this one."

Donahue recently posted footage of a harp guitar duel between himself and one of his students, Yoichi Kayama, performing "Irish Blood" at the Tokyo KMA Guitar Show in Japan.

Donahue: "Although my student is really nervous in front of an audience, I'm proud that he could play this difficult piece with me onstage after only 3 years of practice. Way to go Kayama!"

Donahue released his self-titled Madmen & Sinners debut in 2004 featuring Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie. Check out two audio clips from the album below:
