MANOWAR’s Joey DeMaio – “There Will Never Be People Like Us Again”
February 7, 2016, 8 years ago
Manowar are currently on the Gods And Kings World Tour 2016 celebrating Kings Of Metal MMXIV and the upcoming anniversary of Gods Of War, which was released in 2007. In a new interview with KaaosTV, bassist Joey DeMaio was asked about how he sees the band being remembered along with other giants like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and so forth.
DeMaio says: “There are always gonna be people who are great musicians, there’s always going to be people who are seen as heroes to their fans, but the generation of musicians that I am from and the generation ahead of me like Ronnie Dio and so forth; there will never be people like us again because we grew up in a different time of music and a different time in metal. And so therefore, you’re based on what your influences are and what the scene is. You know, we were so lucky that we grew up right in the explosion of metal and there were so many bands. I mean, I don’t hear another Judas Priest out there. Do you? I don’t hear another Manowar you know? And another KISS. I don’t think there’s gonna be one. Of course there’s going to be metal, rock bands, and concerts and people are gonna go have fun, but there’s a reason why the bands that are out there now aren’t headliners of these shows, there’s a reason for it you know? There aren’t many of us out there that are able to put 40,000 people on the ground.”
Manowar's Gods And Kings World Tour 2016 continues to make history: For the first time ever Manowar will play in Belarus. The show is confirmed for Tuesday, February 16th at Minsk Sports Palace in Minsk, Belarus.
“Our Manowarriors in Belarus have been demanding Manowar and Atom Entertainment had the balls to make it happen!” said Joey DeMaio. “We’ll be coming with a production that will melt faces and will show every metal fan in Belarus what metal really is!”
