MARTY FRIEDMAN And Riff Axelerator Team Up For New Guitar Lick Package; All Proceeds Go To JASON BECKER
September 9, 2017, 7 years ago
A benefit effort created to aid guitar legend Jason Becker, who suffers from the neurological disorder ALS, has been launched by Riff Axelerator in cooperation with former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman:
"The concept is that we have 10 well regarded guitar instructors re-record 10 Marty Friedman licks. Then people use Riff Axelerator to get up to speed. 100% of proceeds goes to the Becker family. This came about because we had previously done a Jason Becker pack and we asked Marty to re-record a part. He was unable to do so due to work commitments, but said that he would approve the use of doing a whole Marty pack as long as all proceeds went to Jason, and that he was to approve all audio recordings and lessons."

Marty Friedman’s new album, Wall Of Sound was produced by Friedman, engineered by Paul Fig (Ghost, Rush, Alice In Chains) and mixed by Jens Bogren (Lamb of God, Opeth). Legendary Queen producer, Mack, came on board to handle the mixing on two tracks, “Streetlight” and “For A Friend”, which Friedman proclaimed was, “an honor for me, for sure”.
