February 15, 2016, 8 years ago
Robb Chavez at Robb's MetalWorks caught up with ex-Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman in San Antonio, CA on February 11th during a stop on his Inferno tour. The interview below touches upon the musical foundations of Inferno and working with special guests Alexi Laiho, Danko Jones and Dave Davidson. Friedman also talks about how he will up the ante on approaching writing for his next release and what it feels like to be back in front of US audiences. Of special note in the interview is Friedman's gesture to US fans that he has not alienated himself from America intentionally, but as a matter of circumstance. Watch the chat below:
EMGtv recently uploaded performance footage of Marty Friedman playing “Devil Take Tomorrow”. With the EMG 81X and EMG 60X humbuckers you can hear all of the nuance and style in Marty's guitar playing. These pickups truly highlight the subtlety in his dynamic approach to the instrument.
