MEGADETH’s DAVE MUSTAINE On Origin Of “À Tout le Monde” – “I Liked THE BEATLES Song ‘Michelle’, I Thought It Was Beautiful”

The Official Montreal Canadians website caught up with Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine to discuss his love for hockey, the band’s relationship with Montreal, and special is it singing the ballad “À Tout le Monde” in Quebec.

Mustaine answered, “It's great. It's almost as loud as when we did it in Paris. There's always going to be an opportunity to play that song some place and explain it to somebody, the story behind it, because it's a very interesting story how the whole chorus came about. I liked The Beatles song, ‘Michelle’. I thought it was beautiful. I'd always thought about speaking French because of my French last name. I was dating a girl from up there and she spoke French, so we just kind of talked a little bit, sweet talked, and I just started learning. Eventually, the idea just came about. I had a dream about my mom, just after she died. I had a visitation and the one thing she got to do was come back and visit, but she could only say one thing,’I love you.’ That was the interesting thing for me, and that's what the song is about, telling my friends, ‘I love you all.’

New York Stock Exchange spoke with Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine this morning (Friday, September 15th) about the band's success and his venture into the wine and beer business.

Asked about his upcoming plans, Dave reveals: “Well, we're gonna do this tour with the Scorpions, then we have a run down in South America. And then we're gonna take time off, the tour is over, get ready to do the next record. I'm working on a video game that encompasses a lot of the band's history and a lot of little riffs that we've never used before, stuff like that, and just prepare for the next tour, the next campaign. We owe our record label one more record, so we, at least, are gonna be doing one more record. I don't see the end in sight for us, because the band's getting along really well right now, and we're playing great."
