MEGADETH’s Dave Mustaine Talks Social Media – “Trolls Need Love Too”
May 3, 2016, 8 years ago
Action News Jax has posted a new interview with Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine and during the interview, Mustaine was asked about interacting with people on social media.
Mustaine said: “The thing with social media is there’s so much dishonesty about it out there and anonymity, so people will say stuff that they’ve met us, that they know us. I mean there’s something going around that the singer from Paramore is my niece or something like that and it’s like, I know the band Paramore, but I didn’t know who the singer was. When they said her name, I was like ‘I don’t know who that was’.”
He continues, “But I think social media can be used for good too. If you know how to use it, you have to have a thick skin, you have not worry about what the trolls are doing because as funny as this sounds, trolls need love too, and you just either ignore them or love on them until they wake up or they go away. If they see they’re getting in your face and bugging you, they’re gonna keep doing it. I just look at it like this: I treat everybody with love and respect.”
Megadeth performed at Terminal 5 in New York, NY on March 16th and 17th. The band have now posted this recap video from the shows:
