June 9, 2015, 9 years ago
Metal United Down Under (MUDU) is an event with shows in 17 cities across all eight Australian states/territories under the same banner in one united night of metal on October 10. Another 38 bands have been announced to play MUDU shows. The total is now 76 bands and MUDU is getting closer to the 100 band mark with ten bands more than last year’s MUDU.
Melbourne has announced its complete line-up which features bands like Adelaide’s thrashers Alkira, Dreadnaught who just had their 23rd band anniversary and Damnations Day who toured Europe with Accept last year.
Hobart’s bill comes as a surprise. The Roadkill and Tyrant front man, Neil Wilson, has not organized a pure hard rock show but put together a mixed genres metal line-up with hard rock, stoner rock, thrash and brutal death metal are very united indeed.
Adelaide has doubled last year’s line-up of four bands and got Melbournians Orpheus Omega onto the bill and the show is part of their album tour. Truth Corroded is back from their Asia Tour and are joining them as will other great Adelaide bands.
Brisbane is complete with 13 bands and has moved into The New Globe Theatre in Fortitude Valley. Fellow Queensland cities Nambour and Bundaberg have announced most of their line-ups. Darwin, Bendigo and Wollongong are complete as well. The eyes are now on Perth, Gladstone, Whyalla, Canberra, Wodonga, Newcastle, Byron Bay and Sydney.
