Metal United Down Under 2015 - 98 Bands Announced

The 100 band mark is almost cracked as 98 bands are now officially part of Australia’s massive metal event Metal United Down Under MUDU.

Sydney is contributing 16 bands with a big mixed genres line-up featuring bands like traditional heavy metallers Temtris and death thrashers Aeternus Dominion. Sickness, an Adelaide grind/brutal death band originally founded in Alice Springs, will bring on their first show after 15 years and use it for a DIY launch of their new album Democide. It’s their first show in Sydney ever. The same goes for Melbourne hard rockers Kilamaine who have not played Sydney before – in contrary to fellow Melbourne band, thrashers Mason, who are quite used to Sydney stages. The last interstate band is Facegrinder from Western Australia who play the Sydney MUDU show as part of their Dimensional Tour. The Sydney show will be a big party over three floors with two stages and a metal DJ of Sydney’s popular nightclub Venom.

Bundaberg has added another seven bands to their line-up making it a total of 15 bands. The promoter Crowned Ruckus presents recruited, among others, Mount Gambier’s power violence outfit Wounded Pig, the guys from progressive metal band Therein as well as melodic death metallers Chronolyth for the show.

There are now only seven cities who have not announced their line-up and Perth is one of them. The organisers Metal Glass Promotions and Graveyard Promotions are planning a mixed genres show in the united MUDU style with some interstate bands. The line-up announcement will be made live on RTR-FMs Critical-Mass 92.1 on 19 August at the usual time of 9pm AWST. The radio hosts are going to play a track from each band of the MUDU Perth leg.

Brisbane’s promoter MMK Music Promotions has secured the cinema room in the New Globe Theatre. In the cinema room they will show video clips of all bands playing MUDU who have quality clips and offer a space to relax for the show which will run from 12 to 12.
