METALLICA Drummer LARS ULRICH Talks New Album - "The Record Will Be Done This Summer"

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich recently spoke to Metal Forces and gave an update on the band’s tenth as-yet-untitled full-length studio album, which is currently in the works.
Ulrich: “We’re now coming towards the end of the musical creative process and we’re starting to look ahead and the process of how we’re gonna share this record with the universe. The month of June is basically when we’re gonna sit down and figure what we’re gonna do with it all; what we’re gonna call it and what’s gonna be on it.”
“Greg Fidelman is 24/7 on this record and has been since last summer. He’s doing an insanely great job and has been putting his heart and soul in it pretty much every waking moment of his life in helping us engineer and produce this record”.
“If the record doesn’t come out this year then it won’t be because it’s not done. It will be because there’s some sort of cosmic reason that it would be smarter to hold onto it until next year. But the record will be done this summer”.
On May 15th, Metallica frontman James Hetfield and vocalist Sammy Hagar (Van Halen, Chickenfoot) held their Acoustic-4-A-Cure concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California. The event saw Hetfield perform acoustic versions of two Metallica songs: "Motorbreath" and "The Unforgiven". He also offered up a cover of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins tune "I Put A Spell On You". Check out fan-filmed video below.
The third annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure concert benefiting the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital also featured appearances by: Joe Satriani, Melissa Etheridge, John Mayer, Train frontman Pat Monahan, Vic Johnson and Kris Kristofferson.
Acoustic-4-A-Cure was created by Hagar and Hetfield, whose vision was to raise needed funds and awareness for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF by bringing together some of their legendary friends and throwing a must-see concert for fans. In past years, artists including: Billie Joe Armstrong, Jerry Cantrell, Pat Monahan, Linda Perry, Chad Smith, Adam Sandler, Joe Satriani, Nancy Wilson, and more have joined Hagar and Hetfield to rock the sold-out benefit concerts.
