METALLICA - “Hardwired” Continues To Climb The Charts

A week after debuting on Billboard's Rock Airplay and Mainstream Rock Songs airplay charts, Metallica's "Hardwired" continues its climb, entering more rankings (dated September 10th), including inside the top 10 of Hot Rock Songs, reports Kevin Rutherford.

"Hardwired" - the lead single from the band's upcoming 10th studio album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, debuts at No. 9 on Hot Rock Songs (which blends radio airplay, digital sales and streaming data), marking both the band's best bow and first top 10 placement since the tally launched in 2009. Metallica previously peaked at a high of No. 28 with "All Nightmare Long" in 2009.

Additionally, following a full tracking week of sales, "Hardwired" enters at No. 1 on Hard Rock Digital Songs and No. 6 on Rock Digital Songs with 20,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen Music, marking the band's highest debuts on the charts. Read more at this location.

Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, the long awaited new Metallica studio album, and follow up to Death Magnetic, will be released on November 18th. The double CD will include nearly 80 minutes of music.

A typical high school gymnasium in San Rafael gave up its basketball tactics and talents for new temporary hosts on Tuesday, August 16th when Metallica descended on the space to shoot a real “smash-and-grab” first video for the forthcoming album Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. Check out the footage below:

The music video for “Hardwired”, as well as a nine-minute video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the writing and recording sessions for "Hardwired”, can be found below. Check out the “Hardwired” single artwork...
