METALLICA - LARS ULRICH To Guest Host On Swedish Radio
June 9, 2016, 8 years ago
Each summer, national Swedish radio station P1 airs a daily one-man show, Sommar i P1. For 90 minutes, a well-known Swede host gets to talk without interruption about whatever he or she likes, as well as choose all the music for the program.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich - born in Denmark - has been named as one of this year's hosts, marking the first time a foreigner will host the show; and the first time it will be done in English.
"After 35 years in the US, I feel more comfortable speaking English," said Lars. "But I still speak Danish and a little bit of Swedish. Systembolaget, Sportspegeln and Kungliga Tennishallen, for instance. I thought I'd talk about life, work and the music that got me on the right track."
Ulrich's appearacne on Sommar i P1 will air at midnight on June 24th, and will be available as a podcast on June 25th.
